My new favorite song

Some people read pitchfork, or peruse their lover's iPod, or regularly hit up the clubs on the weekends in order to come in contact with new music. But I find new bands and songs to love a little differently. Here's how it usually works.

First, I read the latest salacious closeted-Republican-gay-sex story on the internet. For instance, this morning I learned that Washington State representative Richard Curtis enjoys wearing red stockings and a black sequined lingerie top when engaging in gay sex in porn stores and posh Spokane hotels.

These days, whenever someone of a certain age is caught in a gay sex scandal, or kills someone, I tend to look them up on myspace to help fill in the details a little. So, I looked up 26-year-old Cody Castagna, Curtis's apparent sex partner.

The song playing on his profile? "Lean Like a Cholo," my new favorite song.
