Attendant of the river god
Off work early two Fridays ago, headed down to the river with a friend to drink some beer. I'd been thinking about the river a lot lately, with all those people still trapped in the murky waters, and I wanted to head downstream and, you know, give my libations to the wonderful river god Meander.
To aid in the recovery efforts, the Army Corps have used their miniscule power of the locks and lowered the water levels by two feet or so.
The recession revealed several treasures--colonies of freshwater clams, rubber gloves, old tires. A pair of lesbian ducks came through, pushing their beaks into previously out-of-reach muck.
