Drunk in a park

The park was magical. It had rained for most of the evening and the wetness gave everything a sheen. The flowering bushes were just for us. The lamplights shined through wet leaves. Plus there was our state of intoxication, which gave everything a lovely glow and prevented us from feeling the chill of the cold decorative ponds. When we waded into them. It was midnight.

I grabbed Jessica's pink umbrella and we danced under a trellis. Well, I danced, and she chased me. It was half Cremaster, half Busby Berkeley.

------

After I convinced Jessica to wade deep into the center of the pool, where she languished in wet skirts like the lady of the lake, wrestling ensued. I escaped to the heights of the waterfall, where I fancied myself Pan in the trees, but Matt tore me away, hoisting me over his shoulder and carrying me back down to the writhing orgy of drunkenness. Jessica tried to take off my shirt while Brian's hands ended up pulling down my pants.

Jessica and I went back to the park the next day, sober, in the daylight. It just didn't look as magical as it did the night before.
